Amb esta operació, l’Ajuntament de Roquetes vol donar un impuls a esta zona urbanística i confia que la construcció d’habitatge social suposarà un revulsiu per a la resta de parcel·les situades a l’entorn, que ja disposen de qualificació urbanitzable. En les últimes dècades, la zona ha viscut una transformació important. A més de la presència d’equipaments com l’escola infantil o l’institut de secundària, també s’hi aixequen el pavelló poliesportiu o el complex d’aigües.
